Default XM sat radio installation...

Is there a way to have XM sat radio installed without going to the Lexus dealer? They are quoting over $800... that seems crazy to me.

I've "googled" Lexus and XM radio's, and found one for around $290, but I'm wondering if the "local" radio shops can install it correctly using the shark fin antenna that came with my IS250?

Anyone have any insight?

2009 IS 250 RWD
no nav system or XM (and wishing I had it!!)

Do it yourself. It's all done in the trunk, is completely plug and play requiring no "wiring" of any kind, and takes like an hour...two if you go really slow.

Do a search and you'll find several threads with directions, pictures, etc...

Search is your friend. Here is a great writeup on installing the XM radio yourself:

TRUST ME and do it yourself... I did it last sunday, I had my laptop in the trunk while following directions and it's SO simple... You feel accomplished after you do it because it seems technical too... Be like Nike and "JUST DO IT"

The link about the write up is for a 2007, would it be the same for a 2009? Also all the parts i see are listed for up to 2008. Is there a specific kit for a 2009 is 250 with nav?
