07 IS 250 Rear Seat Removal
Always wanted to contribute to the forum somehow so here goes.
I removed the rear seat while trying to get access to the rear panels in the back, maybe didnt have to, certainly gave me some more room. but i have the pictures so here you guys go.
1. The seat is held down by 2 U shaped iron bolts. It is held in with some pressure from a stationary plastic clip. put a hand on each side of the bolt area under the seat and give it a sharp pull. Once they are up, slide the rear seat bottom forward and it will come loose.
2. It is best to remove the Seatbelt bolts first as it will keep you from removing the rest of the seat easily. there are 3 silver 14mm bolts holding down the seatbelts. easy as 1. 2. 3. Make sure when you put them back to torque em pretty good, dont want your passengers flying on your shoddy workmanship...
3. On the left and right side passenger seatbelts there are seat belt guides that need to be popped open. Grab a small phillips or flat head and get it in there to depress the clip to release. it does take some finess so be patient.
heres another pic of the clip opened up
4.. There are 4 black 12mm bolts holding down the rear seat back. they are U shaped and pretty easy to remove. Once they are out, place your hands on the bottom of the seat and force the seat up about 4 inches. you have to get up that high to get over the hook shaped pieces that hold the seat in place.
if you have questions PM me.
From what ive gathered reading posts, other years or the 350 may be different.
just for fun, if you ever wondered what the stock sub looks like and where its at, its kinda puny and looks pretty pathetic, makes me want to at least swap it out with an aftermarket sub, lil amp, something...anything
