He's just noting the differences in tire diameters (not rim widths),

Specifically the tire diameters for different sizes are (inches):

standard front 18's 25.087
standard rear 18's 26.031

or
19's front 235/35/19 25.476

19's rear 255/35/19 26.028 (IS-F rears)
19's rear 265/30/19 25.260
19's rear 275/30/19 25.496
19's rear 285/30/19 25.732

The rubbing is more a factor of rim width, offsets and tire sizing, not lowering springs/coilover selection. For the suspension to work properly, all of the available wheel travel should usable without hitting something. Also some tire brands/models are more "square" than others and more prone to rubbing.

Ahh gotcha! I had no idea of these measurements/values. Thanks for the education. Don't think it should be an issue. At least I don't feel/notice it.

Got some new pics with the car cleaned up. Ran these through photoshop express. Love the rims and the way the car rides now. Thinking of lowering soon.

Great pics with new wheels.

Mild lowering will make big difference (1" is actually significant). And the bigger the wheels (20's versus 19's or 18's) , the more the need for lowering from strictly a styling standpoint. Reason is the ratio of fender gap to sidewall height, with the larger diameter wheel having shortest sidewall.

I think that looks great, especially considering you're at stock height!

What front lip is that?

The lip is the factory GFX kit. I believe I got it for my wife back in 08-09 b/c she scraped the front to hell for like $120 painted and shipped. Wish I could still buy the sides and back.

Hello, great cars in this thread! I need some advice. I know most of you have 20's, but i'm planning on buying some vossens cv3 19" front 8,5 and rear 10. ET f30 r36. 225/35R19 and 245/35R19. (Want the rears 265/30R19). I'm lowered on H&R. Will these fit? I've searched the whole Vossen's thread, but couldn't find the same setup. Thx in advance.

We had the set of CVTs custom finished in our two stage Gloss Black Graphite powdercoat finish with matching caps:
Attachment 493274
Attachment 493275

I've had lots of customers ask for photos of Black Graphite installed, so here they are!

Before on stock 18"s
Attachment 493276

After:
20x9 20x10.5 CVT and 225/255 Hankook Tires
Attachment 493277
Attachment 493278

Concavity shot!
Attachment 493279

Quite a nice upgrade over the stocks!
What do you guys think?
