Front Wheel Bearing DIY
Anyone have any instructions on replacing the front wheel bearings? Is it pretty easy or should I take it to a shop? I saw a couple videos on YouTube for replacing wheel bearings on other cars and it looked pretty easy. The IS has a sealed bearing and the bearing and hub is one unit so you basically have to replace the entire hub.

Are you sure its not just a press fit? Wheel bearings aren't hard for an intermediate mechanic, but it requires some tools the average person might not have. And its a very dirty job.

Front wheel bearings are just press in. I switched mine out for the IS-F wheel hubs bc of my new brakes. It's four bolts. Make sure you get the correct torque values for them. Best way to get them out is to mount a wheel back on the hub and don't tighten the lugs all the way down. Then give the wheel/tire a quick jerk to pull it off and the hub will come with it. I included a picture of what a hub looks like. This compares the IS-F hub to the IS350 hub.

My dealer said the bearing and hub are one unit so I need to replace the whole hub. It's $650 to have them do it. If I just changed out the whole up do I don't need any special tools right? Just remove the brake calipers, rotor, and remove the hub right? What's the torque specs for a 2007 IS250?

The hubs are about $300ish from Sewell. You don't need any special tools, just some sockets and wrenches. As far as torque specs, I looked them up on TIS.
Install the front axle hub sub-assembly and front disc brake dust cover with the 4 bolts.
Torque: 69 N·m (702 kgf·cm, 51 ft·lbf) (Same for 2WD and 4WD)
If it's AWD, Using the socket wrench (30 mm), install a new front axle hub nut.
Torque: 294 N·m (2,998 kgf·cm, 217 ft·lbf)

What would be a droning/oscillating sound like a waaah....waahh........wahhh... sound besides a wheel bearing or tires? I can hear the sound at around 40mph and then at over 80mph I feel it. It's a really slow vibration. The "waaah" is about 1 to 2 seconds long. It goes away when I turn right at over 80mph but I hear it pretty loud on a nice smooth round. Since I feel it when I turn left, does that mean i should replace the right wheel bearing? I'm also getting more wear on the inside of my left tire. I also had my car aligned but it still pulls to the right and the steering goes to the right as well by itself.

It is tru or false? Any advice?
