Question Headlights, Fog Lights, im confused!!!

Ok so before people tell me to search i already have and i think it'll be better if people just explain this to me straight up cuz im an idiot. So first i want to change out my fog lights which seems pretty simple (just a simple bulb replacement on both ,4350k or something to match my stock headlights). I keep reading about kits and stuff though too, which is confusing me. I also was thinking about going to 6000k for the headlights, but was confused about if i just need bulbs for that too or do i need a kit or what. I read something about some of our cars are already HID (is HID the abbreviation im looking for here lol) ready so we can just change out the bulbs and some aren't. Anyways if someone could explain this to me it would be appreciated.

First of all do you have HIDs? If so you just need D4S bulbs, if not you need an H11 kit.

To put HIDs in your fogs you will need a 9006 KIT.

BTW I suggest Garax 6000k bulbs for the D4S

if your car is equipped with HID low beams, you can just swap the light bulbs with 6000k. to match the fog lights, you will need a HID conversion kit. check out our vendor XenonDepot. steve is very helpful and willing to answer any questions you might have. i personally have their HID conversion kit for my fog, looks and works great.

To tell if you have HID:

With your car off.... turn on the headlights. You should hear a humming sound (helps if you are in a quiet place like a garage)

Also, when you turn your car ON...the headlights should move.

For the fog lights.. yes, you need a kit.

if your lights look like most car on the road than you dont have HID...HID stands for high intensity discharge.

1. If you dont have HID:
- Low Beam= buy a H11 (bulb size) kit in 6000K (bulb temperature)
- Fog Light= buy a 9006 kit in 4300K or 6000K

2. If you DO have HID:
- Low Beam= buy a pair of D4S (bulb size) bulbs only, in 6000K
- Fog Light= buy a 9006 kit in 4300K or 6000K

a kit should contain pair of bulb and ballst...some do come with wiring harness (recommended). Do a search under the vendor section, there are plenty of vendors selling it. installation is fairly simple, but could be some what confusing if you never install a kit before. look and see if there are any local member on the forum that could help you install it. should take no more than 30 minutes or if you wanna drive to TX, I'll do it for free
