Default Paint shop for some lips. Lexus? Custom shop?

I purchased front & rear lips and need to get them painted starfire pearl. Should I be taking them to Lexus, Toyota or a standard shop like Maaco? Or should it be a custom body shop that works with lip kits?

There are a bunch of paint and body shops in the area but I want to be sure I get a quality job and the paint matches. I emailed Lex and Yota to get recommendations. Anyone local to North Florida that can recommend a shop ?

might wanna try to move it to the regional section people would be able to answer it better...IMO it is better to actually paint it in your trusted body shop where they can match your paint... install is a cake and you can do it yourself

Starfire is hard to match...I would take it to a good shop and shop around. From experience, any fiberglass front lip will get rock chips easy so get it clear bra'd if possible.

The material the lip is made of has nothing to do with the durability of the paint job. The prep work and quality of the paint materials matter more than what the paint is sticking to.

Oh yeah, and like others have said before. Color matching a 3 stage job is very difficult.

So difficult!!! I made the paint shop repaint 3 times because it was a different shade.. Right now the paint is still darker when you look at it in the shade. I just live with it.... I made them repaint it 3 times so i thought that was enough trying.

It makes me not want to get another light colored car..

Me and my professor used DuPont Chroma premier and it was 3 coats of base, 3 mid (the pearl), and 2 clear if that helps any. Came out like this.

To me that looks like a pretty close color match. You can see a difference, but not enough to complain about. Good job!

It's the camera's fault lol jk. Tank you, I still have paint leftover to do about 2 more rear lips but no one local needs it.

funny...I sent a few emails to the Lexus and Toyota dealerships to see if they would paint or could recommend anyone for painting. this is one of the replys..."complicated mess" too funny....

"We have received your qestions about your Lexus IS250 and I have talked to
my manager about it. We don't paint aftermarket parts due to the fact that
it turns into a complicated mess. So we couldn't be any help. Have a
good day!"
