Default another front license plate holes thread, but..

i don't know if i made the mistake of using a power drill to remove the screws for the front license plate bracket, but now the surroundings of the holes potrude out from the surface.

is there a way to flatten it out so that when i plug them up they're flush? any other ideas?

shave it with a razor that way the bumper plug will sit flush. if you are close to aero tech just drive to it and have them do it for you.

I've got the same problem, but the bumper is sucked out around the holes too (like a volcano). I'm stumped

A regular screwdriver would not have made a bit of difference. It's the act of tightening the screws down that pulls the plastic outward. I am wondering if some super strong velcro might be a good solution as I have yet to put the front plate on?

i was trying to think of the best way to describe it, but that's absolutely perfect! sucked around the holes like a volcano.

Unfortunately, you're not the only one with this problem. Often the dealers will drill and cause this same effect.

As others have mentioned, use a razor blade or exacto knife to take the excess material off your bumper. The bumper plugs (if you're using ours), should cover outwards of the hole by about 1/8" - 1/4", so you should be okay to cut some of that away.

That's how we would install them.

i think i'm over it now and will just put the plate bracket back on, but wanted to know that if this "volcanic eruption" around the holes will cause a problem down the line?

i can't tell from the site, but do the plugs screw in or do they just slide in somehow? also, does the cover part of the plug have room inside or does it sit completely flat against the bumper
