its really a matter of 5 minutes. you'll need the dealer's service computer (Intelligent tester 2) though. All one needs to do is disable the DRL option in the service menu using that device. No way in hell it can cost 55 bucks
pretty much sums it up. most dealers though will say its against the law to turn them off or something to that effect. just getting your dealer to turn them off no matter what you pay them might be hard.
So does turning off the DRL function through the dealer also turn off the high-beam function?
No, it just turns off the DRLs. Turning them off isn't illegal, as daytime running lights are not mandatory in the US, but quite a few dealers are still worried about the liability of disabling a safety feature.
