Default New IS350 Setup - What would you do?

Good morning,

It's been a long ordeal, but I believe I will have a 2008 IS350 either tomorrow or next week (depending on which dealer I purchase it from).

I've read the FAQ and have been through literally hundreds of threads in both this forum and my.IS, and I've learned a lot, but my mind is also kind of drowning in information, and so I was looking for help in "putting it all together".

So, my question to you is what would you do once you take delivery and/or negotiate as part of the delivery?

Here's what I got so far:

1. Clear Bra - Still not sure on brand though. Lots of conflicting information involved.

2. Window Tinting - Not sure of the type or level yet. Thinking about 25% all the way around, which is about 10% more than legally allowed here.

3. IPOD Adapter - The one that allows it to be controlled through the steering wheel, and also allows satellite usage.

4. Some cleaning products - Leaning towards Lexol for leather cleaner.

5. ...eventually address the recall/TSB issues.

Welcome to CL. I suggest you get the Ventureshield clear bra on the day you buy your car.

1. Clear Bra - VentureShield is nice
2. Window Tinting - If you're going to be illegal, you might as well go all-out. Go darker than 25 - 17, perhaps.
3. IPOD Adapter - Nice
4. Some cleaning products - the CL Hawaii guys would like to interest you in some Swissvax Divine.
5. ...eventually address the recall/TSB issues.

6. Wheels & a Drop

1. i dunno

2. legal vs illegal is up to you

3. the cd player already can play burned mp3 disks so... its your money

4. HAHA, many of us here in hawaii use Swissvax cleaning products, i know i do

5. recalls must do/tsib's are a personal choice AND you may not have rattling issues, i dont *course i play my music loud everwhere i go so i dont hear any rattles

6. drop first then rims *nothing looks lamer than someone with rims and no drop

Ventureshield.

Depending on your color of the car, i think 35% is the perfect amount, but 20% is the darkest i would go.
3. IPOD Adapter - The one that allows it to be controlled through the steering wheel, and also allows satellite usage.
Stock iPod adapter will work, or Vaistech if you want iPod video playback.
4. Some cleaning products - Leaning towards Lexol for leather cleaner.
Lexol is good stuff. Use aerospace 301 for vinyl surfaces.
5. ...eventually address the recall/TSB issues.
Dont get TSIB's done unless you really have a problem with the car. Most likely the only thing you will need done is the change the breaks to the dustless break pads.( IMO, dont do it. You lose breaking power)

Looks like the 35k range from most dealerships I've spoken with, which is out the door and includes some add-ons like a clearbra, etc.

Edit: Should mention that also includes the luxury package, nav, ML audio, etc.
