Default What recalls are out there on my car need HELP!!!!!

Hey guys i just bought a 2008 IS250 left over 6 speed. it only has a 1000 miles on it now but im having small little problems with the car that i notice. I knew before i bought the car the six speed had certain problems with it but im having more then just that. I heard a weird ticking noise inside my dash or like a click noise evry couple minutes that is really random. My sterring wheel makes a weird noise when i turn every once in a while. My front breaks seems like they put off an excessive amount of dust also. But if you guys know of anything else wrong with these cars or recalls please let me know. I want them to fix everything when it goes in for its 5,000 mile oil change. I dont like the dealer having my car any longer then they have to.

Thanks,
Ryan

shudn't have any recalls affecting you.. other than the TSB Brakes.. i guess.. the rattling and everything else... doubt it's part of a recall.... might wanna check with the rep and tell them the problems

Create an account on http://owners.lexus.com. Add your car to your "garage". You should see something on the right side of your car that says "Service Campaigns available." These are for the more serious issues. As for the TSIBs, you have to ask around. There should be one for the brakes, one for the dashboard rattle.

I think everyone has the same problem with the rattling from the dashboard. I had that problem around 1K miles and I just left it alone. But I think its one of the clips from the center of the dashboard. You can tell the dealership to get it fix but I think the problem will come back. Second, tell the dealership to do your TSIB, that should get rid of the dust and hopefully remove any rattling sound and hopefully fix the steerling wheel sound also. All these work are still under warranty!! 4years or 50K miles

I took my car in for a rattle. a cd fell back somewhere haha.

Brake dust? Deal with it. I carry a duffle bag filled with microfiber towels to keep the chrome shinin.

Steering? Hmm. Dont know about that. Either way ..anything wrong will be covered as new as it is.

why should anyone "deal with" the brake dust when Lexus will give you new, low dust, pads for free?

Yeah--if you buy a BMW, Audi or MB, you must deal with it. I got the TSB done. Much less dust (but not dust free), and no noticeable braking power issues.
