Default Annoying rattle noise

uhm...my car was fine until I noticed ticking sound coming from behind the steering wheel. It comes and goes but esp noticeable after hitting rough road. It sounds like a rock or pebble stuck below steering wheel. Is it one of those annoying rattles people have been complaining? I did find some clear plastic sticking out from knee air bags. When I touch it the sound is similar.

I believe it's the steering wheel locking mechanism. I had the same rattle and it eventually went away on it's own. Try moving the steering wheel around when it is locked.

Steering wheel won't move when it's lock right?

i also have that.... i asked the dealer to check it out... but they say nothing is wrong

Not sure if it's the same noise but check this previous post:

I just got my '08 250 back yesterday from the dealership. It was in for the 1000 mile "service", a new rim, and... a gnarly driver's side dash rattle. Fortunately I was able to trace the noise to the seam right above the dash dimmer **** to the left of the steering column. If I pushed on the material just above the **** I could duplicate it for the service tech at the dealership. It still took two attempts to fix but since yesterday, so far so good. Now I have a driver's side b-pillar rattle that's getting to me. I have to be honest I'm a little disappointed that a Lexus with barely 1000 miles on it is rattling more than my 15 year old Toyota pickup truck.
On another note, the dealership loaned me an IS 350 with the F-sport package. Sh@# that thing is fast! Getting back into my stock IS 250 was a bit of a shock.

You can still move it a little bit. Try knocking the piece back in place.
