Default Traction control

Is there a way to keep the traction control off? After I press the button and cause the car to slide or spin the rear wheels the traction control turns back on.
Thanks

You'll have to hold the button down for about 7 seconds to completely disable it.

haha, had this problem n looked it up in the manual..jus be at a stop and hold the button down as they stated above ..traction n stability control are turned off. if only traction control off, stability will sense the need for traction with movement/speed and turn back on automatically

It's all about safety and maintaning vehicle control. Feel good my 06 makes it difficult to disable. For my 350, VIP everyday - no games.

Does anyone have the exact steps for disabling the 06. I think its - brake, brake and hold, then emergency brake twice?

"For 2006 IS models, the stability control system/traction control system can be disabled through non-conventional methods by using a code during engine start. This involves starting the car with the parking brake engaged, releasing the parking brake, pushing the brake pedal twice, holding it on the second push, engaging the parking brake twice, holding it on the second, and repeating until the vehicle traction light appears on the dash. This will effectively disable the system until the car is turned off."

i wish the traction control kicks in at 30mph plus... i find it unsafe when im making a turn from a dead stop and break traction causing the computer to cut power for a good 3secs which puts me in danger of oncoming cars!

I think it's brake, brake and hold, emergency brake twice, turn off AC, tune to 93.3 FM, then honk the horn.
