Default '09 options in SoCal

I was at a local SoCal dealership tonight picking up some plate frames when I noticed their selection of '09's looked a lot different from the '08's. I know they switched options around for this model year, but the dealer had several RWD IS250's with the premium package minus the 18" rims. The 18" rims have always been a forced option when getting the premium package here in SoCal, so I was surprised to see this set up. It looks like Lexus is no longer making dealers get fully loaded cars like in the past. Many of these models I saw also did not have xenons. Interesting change.

I guess it is the reason why Toyota has 30% loss, when other luxury car makers get gain. I couldn't find any fully loaded non sport IS350 in California. Only order and it is 4 months wait and not much window of negotiation.

I feel your pain. It's tough finding that exact car you want. I went through an extensive search last year for mine, but did come up successful.
I wouldn't say that is why Toyota sales is down though. Every car maker is down in these hard times and no one has gained %'s save for Mini. Expect sales to decline some more this year as the economy struggles.
