100 octane in IS350
i filled up 100 octane the other day in my IS350, i was just wondering if i get a little more power with this(i noticed a little but that may have been a placebo type effect)...or even if it effects my car in any way good or bad...(this might be a repeat thread)

try a search, I found a bunch of stuff and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

Anything above 93-94 octane is a waste. Unless your car is tuned to run 100 octane, its not doing anything. The purpose of running higher octane is being able to lean out the fuel mixture and add timing (TUNING) and if you have a forced induction vehicle, by adding boost as well as tuning.

As the searches will suggest, higher octane has nothing to do will adding more power. It’s only there to prevent knocking in higher compression engines. The same pseudo affect for 100 octane would be achieved if you took some dollar bills and threw them out the window while shouting, “Vroom, vroom!”

Are tuned beyond factory specs
or
Have something else wrong with them that cause them to knock/ping on normal pump octane.
The first is great... in the second case the proper thing to do is fix the car.
It violates several nice bits of science for a car that's programmed for pump gas to otherwise see any advantage from higher octane gasoline.

Here in Dubai we have 95 ocatane and 98 octane, and i dont see any difference between the two, if anything i feel the car is faster with 95 ( dont know the psychological term for that haha)

Any insight for as Cali guys that are forced to run 91... I feel like on track days the 100 properly mixed with the 91 would give us better results..
Approx goal would be to reach 93-94 octane.
