Lexus extended warranty when does it start?
Just bought an LEXUS EXTENDED WARRANTY from a dealership--Platinum
7 years/100,000 miles. I bought the warranty with 49,000 miles on my car. The car was originally purchased in 10/05. I just received the paperwork from LEXUS WARRANTY and the 7 years started back in 2005!?!??!
Is this right?!?!?!?!
It doesn't seem to make sense that the factory warranty would overlap with the extended warranty!

Most FACTORY extended warranties start at the original in-service date for the vehicle (meaning it starts the day the first owner purchases the car), and usually go UP TO the mileage selected (it stops at that mileage---> it's NOT added on to your current mileage). Aftermarket extended warranties vary, however.

That's right, buying a 7 year/100k miles extended warranty really means an extra 3 year/50k miles warranty on top of the 4 year/50k miles original factory warranty. Did the dealership where you bought it from say otherwise?
