How to take front dome light lens out
whatsup guys,
i recently purchased the Luxer Custom LED panels for the dome lights from Carson Lexus and i was wondering if anyone knew how to take the front dome light lens out.
I know you replace the regular bulbs through the back, by removing the whole piece by two screws inside the sunglass holder, but i need to install the panel through the lens because that is the only way it will be able to fit in. the led panel is custom to fit the lens exactly.
Does anyone know how to take this clear lens out???
i tried going through the back but there is too much wiring and circuitry back there to start taking things out, i don't want to mess anything up.

Once you have the unit out, you should be able to push it through the back side but with something that doesn't dent the plastic... I think you can use the bulb holes easily..
or
You can use a small plastic pry tool on the edge of the lense so you don't mark anything up on your panel.

When doing mine I started out taking out the 2 screws and pulling the console out, however, like you, I chickened out. I ended up just popping the lens off in the same way as the back. It is tougher however and will require more prying, I just a very thin screwdriver and it left 2 small dents where I wedged it in. I suggest using something that is fairly wide and sturdy, a credit card is too flimsy, but picture a metal credit card and that'd do the trick.

ok the best method is like the first two guys said, using something that fits through the bulb holes and gently pushing it out from the inside. it comes out fairly easy. i tried a little prying before i tried this method, and all it did was dent the plastic
