i have 09 is250 in aus.. and i dont like them.. useless.. with the 09 tailights it would look better with 6 leds in the centre lights instead of 4..

a question though... do these activate wen ABS is activated? i know for some bmw's their ones do

So much for trying to be helpful....all i had was my iphone 3gs to take these pictures...and the exposures are way off. but anyway here they are

Without rear fogs

After looking at them again. in semi-dark settings, the rear fogs are actually pretty bright. It's just not immediately apparent because the colour matches the rest of the tail lights perfectly giving the false impression that they are uniformly bright. I can imagine them to be quite a serious distraction to other drivers

Most of the detail is lost because the picture overexposes the tail lights (i just couldnt get my phone to not do that) but there you are

Where is the switch to turn them on? Can you take a pic of it?

Its on the lighting stalk, the same switch to turn your front fogs on. When the switch is at zero, no fogs on, one click up turns the front fogs on (just like any IS including yours), then there is another click up which then springs back to turn on the rear fogs

I'll post a pic later

Hmm ... are the USDM models pre-wired for the rear fog? (Like the illuminated sills.. where there is a plug already there- but with nothing plugged in)

I just changed out my reverse lights for LED bulbs and I didn't notice any extra wiring back there.

Happy to help guys

Looks like american ISes have some pretty wierd restrictions on lighting. No rear fogs is strange enough, but i've also heard you guys can't have your DRLs switched on with your front fogs at the same time. Cars overseas (in my country at least) allow front fogs to be on whether on DRLs, or low beams

I think US cars also do not allow you to close all windows + sunroof by holding down the lock button on the key fob, right? Not to mention no folding mirrors?

The only reason i can think of that they would do this is because of possible liability issues (your liability laws are scary strong) or perhaps to prevent misuse. Seems overly nanny-like to me though

Jeff Lange: In that 2011 IS in your sig, the bootlid looks like a different shape, almost like it has an integrated spoiler. If so, what spoiler is it (or are my eyes playing tricks on me)

You can close your windows with your remote thats not fair! haha and you can definitely have your fogs + drl/headlights on
