I have is250 6MT and I raced with civic SI before.
I lost by about one and half length. The SI was not stock though he have intake and exhaust system. In the other hand I have intake, exhaust and big *** rims (20 inch).

The K series engine is easy to mod and can handle quite a bit of load(w/ only 3K in mods you can get the Si to over 320fwhp safely-this is old news)-not like the IS X50s.
If you want a cheap thrill, buy the Si.
If you want class and enough hp/tq to get you to point A to B, buy the 250.
The 250 looks 100x better IMO =D

BTW XhyDra,
From what I have been reading on this thread, maybe you should have bought the 350 instead of the 250...you seem like you race or pick on other slower cars a lot.

+1 Like I said already, an Civic SI or RSX-S or base RSX (MT) will smoke an is250. Seems like you have high expectations for your is250. Should of just got an is350 if you are so eager to beat low end cars.

funny thing, i was considering of buying a Honda Si fully loaded...but instead I bought a IS250 fully loaded...i know it's not gonna be a faster car when it comes to drag, but I really love the ISX50...just looks and everything....all the little features. But of course...I paid almost twice as much as what I would have paid for a Honda Civic.

I'm not gonna talk trash about either. If I have the extra money, I still want a Civic Si or a RSX Type-S. I miss driving a manual.

Off topic?
Last I checked this was an IS250 vs Civic Si discussion.

If I'm not mistaken Civic Si's run mid 15's according to many online reviews, and RSX-S all in the driver, I know they're faster than IS's by a bit, Si smoke the IS250AT RWD? I think not

if you want luxury and a name that looks professional. get the IS. if you want something nice that you can drive around for fun and track every now and then.. get the Si. but I suggest you don't waste 30+ grand on the damn MUGEN one.. just get a normal Si. same ****. just without the rims and suspension and wing. and paintjob. you can do that on you're own.

IMO just cuz its a honda doesn't mean its a piece of crap..

BUT. don't compare it with a Lexus. thats 2 different worlds right there.

A Civic SI run low 15s. According to 2 magazines they run 15.1 and 15. 0-60 in 7.2 seconds. (http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=108019) An Is250 1/4 mile in 16.2 0-60 7.5-7.9. I just think someone is just can't admit the fact that an Civic can beat an Lexus..

Like someone said already, you should of got an IS350 if you care to beat a CIVIC so bad..

Not so eager to beat a Civic just trying to back a point, the whole reason this thread was started, IS250AT RWD run 15.4 and 0-60 7.2-7.4, my best was 7.2 on a 60' I can see an MT or AWD run 16's, if you haven't yet seen the thread on the Mazzuri headers, two people one with AT RWD and another with an AWD tested the headers and posted results, AWD results were in the 16's the RWD had 15.1 and 0-60 6.8 sec. I don't trust or like Edmunds biased reviews, I don't know if you've seen the review on the IS-F vs RS-4, they claim the IS-F does close to mid 13's, now that's laughable. And completely boast the RS-4.

I didn't get my car for racing, just because I decided to get a fuel efficient car doesn't mean I don't give it some runs. Who doesn't.

You don't buy an IS 250 to race. Its not that car. FYI the Mugen Civic got slightly worse times in Road and Track than a stock Si.

I couldn't consider being in a Civic if I was past 7 years old, I don't care how fast it is. The stigma of it smells. Half of them in Atlanta are 1/2 painted or dented with HID 10k kits or bulbs trying to race with no signals every day.

Its for children.

i mean why are talking about 0-60, 1/4mi times for a 250? 250's have great looks, great mileage for a v-6 in a heavy car, have an AWD option for the snowbirds...

grandmas new v-6 camry will destroy a SI, RSX-S, IS250 in a straight line anyways... so who cares?

+1 My friend has a RSX-S and has run 14's also when he was stock. But I don't have timesheet to prove this.

Seriously, if you bought a is250 why bother even racing. Hell, if I got one, i wouldn't even bother modding it. I would just leave it the way it is. Because you obviously bought it for class and not for speed.

End of discussion. Pointless going any further.
