Whoever thought of trying to make an IS250 fast was smart. Most people buy the 250 because they can't afford the 350. All these slow 250s buy these little exhausts, headers, intakes, etc for 100+ and 10 hp later they are still slow.
I obviously bought a lexus for one reason... power and luxury. After driving in my GS350, and then getting into an IS250 (torqueless wonder of lexus) it feels like the IS250 is equivalent to a civic ex. Even my mom's rolla has more torque then the is250!!!!

Who said people own 250 can't afford 350....Bought a 250 bc my wife she wanted good gas miles...and she the one who drives it... I bought the car with all extra stuffs for 38,000 paid off.......and whoever said we dont have couple extra grands to get the 350..People bought there car for reasons ok.

Yes the Civic Mugen Si will be faster. 30k for a Civic? Not enough weed in the world. ek9vboi, people buy the 250 for many reasons, not b/c they cannot afford a 350. Thats garbage.
-better gas milege
-lower insurance
-no "need for speed" and no temptation
-the 350 isnt' differentiated enough from the 250
-better lease deals on the 250

Civic Vs IS
If price is not the main concern, then the Lexus wins hands down. Like others have said this is not even a fair comparison.
And to be comparing which is faster is ridiculous. Get another car for speed.
It should be gas mileage, driving comfort, reliability, perhaps exterior appeal, etc.
I have not driven the Civic, but one reason the IS250 costs so much more is because it is just a classier vehicle.

ive been in a 2005 525 BMW that got beat by a civic si 2002 (i think), but not by much. If the IS250 if faster than the 525 BMW then it is prally also faster than the civic

Isn't the gs350 and gs460 pretty much equal speed wise? I know one is v6 and the other one is v8. But they aren't much faster than each other.
