Hello Ethan.

Welcome to the Club!

Well, I'm happy to hear that you have an IS250. Yes, the IS350 is a lot faster, but trading you car in will hit you hard with fees and depreciation costs.

Are you ready for that?

I love my IS350, and it's a keeper. Since I cannot predict what the 3IS will look like, I would recommend our current car with high regard.

If you are ready to take the hit, go for the IS350 now.

Personally, due to the volatile economy, I wouldn't buy anything new. If I was in your situation, I would wait. However, if you know you can afford it, I would love to upgrade to the IS350 for the fun of it all.

Good luck with your decision.

Welcome to the Club!

I say forget the 250 and 350 and get the F

On a more serious note though, if you like the 250 and are considering the 350 I would say make sure its something you are able to do financially (like PhilipMSPT said) and if you can, then go for it.

No one knows what the 3rd gen 350 is going to be like yet (how it handles, features, power feel, etc.) so if your considering it now I say go for it. The 3rd gen is also nearly 2 years away so if your willing to wait and see what its like, then wait and see The risk with that is what if you don't like the new gen? You'll look back and wonder why you didn't pull the trigger on the 2nd gen 350

Anyway, keep us updated on what your thinking and let us know what you decide

Another thing to think about is the amount your car insurance would increase. Then decide if its worth it.

Welcome to the club! I would keep the 250 and save money on gas. Although if you wanted do a trade in, it would depend on whether you need the extra HP. Like philipmspt said, the economy is terrible at the moment to make such purchases. Good luck.

Welcome to Club Lexus Forums !

Have you researched what your trade in value would be vs if you sold your car outright ? Trade in is historically never as high as selling it outright.
If you DID decide to trade it in, I would negotiate your best price for the new one, be sure its the best they can give you, and then, tell them you want to trade in the IS250. Then here is where if you are informed, you can tell them if they are close to what an average of market value is for your car. You would need to do alot of research before you went in, are you willing to go that extra mile?
If your economical situation is such that it doesnt matter what you do with X amount of dollars now, and in the future, then do what you think is best.
I would have to think that all dealers are dying to sell anything since everyone has been scared off, etc.. You might be able to pull some great deal on a new one - but again, you need to do research on what the Invoice price of that particular car would be, and see how close the dealer is getting to that or not.
I also have an '08 IS350, fully loaded, and while it is a very nice car, it gets way too much tire and road noise in the cabin on the bad freeways up here. More than I have ever expected to get on a luxury car, and certainly more noise than I hear in any Bimmer.. I guess that the Japanese and European cara manufacturers, have an entirely different view of how to remove road noise, or not..
Good luck with your choice.. DanF

welcome and i'd definitely wait till 2011

in the meanwhile, either save your money or start doing some mods to your current car so you won't be bored of it (unless ur already down that path =P)

Is the 3IS expected in late 2010 as a 2011 model, or in 2011 as a 2012 model?

keep the 250 and save some gas and money lol
wait until you actually see the car
and I'm pretty sure by that time, you'll be attracted to another / different car

but yes..350 is faster than 250, but then if you are looking for Speed and heavy Mod for performance
I don't think you should get the IS / Lexus at all..

Welcome to CL.

First off, what do you want in the 350? If it's just the extra 100hp in my view it's not worth it considering the amount you'll probably lose in this deal. I'd say keep your 250 and money for now and wait for the next gen.
