The lexus letters are one piece I believe. But you can use sticker remover to get them off.

Getting them off is the easy part. The emblems are stuck on with double-sided foam tape. Dental floss is probably the easiest way to separate the emblem from the car, but this will leave a lot of the adhesive & tape on your car. However, it's easy to pull this off. Then you can use an adhesive remover to get the last of the glue.

If you want to re-attach the emblems, you'll need to get the double-sided tape. Check Carson or Sewell for replacement emblems.

Remember the "S" and the "5" have pegs that sit in holes in your trunk.

The "Lexus" badge is a whole piece with 2 pegs that sit in holes. The IS portion has a peg in the "S" and the "5". So if you were going to change anything you would have to fill those holes somehow.

If you want to keep the exact spacing go buy a block of Oasis (the foam they use for flower arranging) and press it on the letters before removing them. This will give you an exact spacing impression.

I used a hair dryer to heat the double sides tape. I didn't need to use goo-gone or any type of adhesive remover. As for the letters that are free flowing, i had an imprint of the letters and numbers( because my car was dirty)

before you take off i'd blue tape the area around the letters if you're gonna put them back on. also i'd heat up like 2slow said then if you take them off well enough then you can just reuse the existing tape. if not then just go buy some 3m double sided tape and slap it on and cut off excess. i like to use any card 'cause i think it takes the adhesive part off better than floss does. i hate seeing cars with all the tape around the car 'acuse they wanted to take the letters off but couldn't get the sticky part off.

The emblems come with 3m tape behind it so you won't need to worry about that.

I think javy had a post where he had the painters tape as a template and also to protect the paint when he was removing the emblems. Heat it real good and the adhesive left over on the paint will come off easily.

I'm curious - what exactly do you have planned? That might make it easier for us to make recommendations.
