Default Seat is Cut!?!?!?! Any insurance adjusters out there? HELP!!!

So a friend of mine was riding in the car yesterday. he got in both the front and rear passenger seats throughout the day.

He must have had something in his back pocket because it cut both of the perforated leather seats in the Lexus. I called Progressive. Would this be covered at all? I'm just beside myself, the leather covers alone are VERY expensive.

Anyone have a front passenger seat and rear leather seat in their possesion they would like to sell me? The car came with perforated seats.

Yes,

More than likely, the seat skin will have to be replaced. Sometimes, if the cut is not to wide, it can be repaired with a glue that mends leather. It is a less costly alternative and I have seen this repair be effective.

Could a cut in the seat be a comp claim though?

100% agree. He should at least help pay for it. Unless, your friend is a hot girl. Then other payments can be arranged.

A front and a rear leather seatbottom is going to run close to $2000 installed - that's what insurance is for!

Some insurance companies are pretty reasonable with comprehensive claims and don't necessarily increase your rates (eg State Farm).

Just ask Progressive if it'll raise rates or not. Does progressive have agents? I have Farmers and have an agent. I always ask him what will happen before I file a claim for everything. He tells me what or won't raise rates and how to word/file something if it could go either way.
