Default does it matter to have 2 diff brand tires?

I bought a set of rims with tires on the front, but not on the rear. I am about to purchase the hankook tires for my rear, but my front i do not know what it is. Does it matter or make any bad differences if you use 2 diff. brand tires?

Brand doesn't matter.

Just make sure you get the right size tires.

The brand doesn't matter as much as making sure the tires have comperable
handling careacteristics, tread pattern for water dispersement and tread compound for grip & traction. Usually if all tires have the same speed rating they will be close.

I agree. Just put the new tires in the rear as they will have more grip in the rain/snow. If the new ones were in the front it could cause you to spin out as the front will turn tighter then the rear.

A pair set by axle is fine...it is when you mix brand left to right that you can get some issues.. but pair sets between front or back axles no problemo
