I remember that we posted a poll wondering if people thought the IS was worth more than MSRP, worth more than invoice, or worth less than invoince. People responded to all aspects.
For some people, they got a good deal paying over MSPR. For some people, they did not get a good deal by paying $100 over invoice. The "value" of the IS is different for some people, that's why people negotiate.

Profit margines on a base IS250 are a lot less than a decked out 350. The price range for the IS goes from low 30s up to almost mid 40s, so expect more of a discount on a more expensive car.

Looking to purchase an IS250 w/ premium pkg, 18inch wheels, and Spoiler. Do you think it would be feasible to get 2k off MSRP? Can anyone tell me who the better dealers to deal with are? I plan on starting my search using the Internet sales first. Also does the dealer do Tint for a reasonable price? Thanks.

His 99 Honda Civic EX with 99.7K miles had a KBB trade of 4500, if it was excellent. His car had a cracked front bumper, dings everywhere, dents + creases on the hood, Cigarrette burns in the back. A hubcap was missing, and all the lugs were different(When his rims were stolen, we had to piecemeal lugs for him. Scratches around the radio, from when his car was broken into. The windows didnt work properly,
his car was lowered, he had a greddy exhaust and an old intake, which we dont have the stock parts for. (They said these are negatives)

Im hoping to offer $29,000 for a 250RWD Automatic, basic radio this summer. Hoping I can get 72 month financing for something like that while putting $5000. I would love nav but I cant see it happening on my budget. I want to buy my own place in a couple years so I cant go overboard. I was so wishing the pricing was closer to the TSX range.
Anybody know if the Nav can be added later??? Can a swap ever be done in the future?

I would shop around. I'm getting mine for basically $3900 of the MSRP fully loaded If you don't mind having it shipped you will probably find a better deal elsewhere. This isn't the car i purchased i got the Lux with rear spoiler but its an idea of what you can find if you shop around.
Here is an example of a quote i received the other day.
Per our conversation earlier today...
Black with Black interior 2006 Lexus IS350
Base Price $35440
Sport Pkg 3695
Navig/Mark Lev Audio 3990
Pref Acc Pkg 194
Destination 590
MSRP $43909
Your price $40000 plus taxes where it will be titled.

Ken -
What approach did you take to getting quotes like this? I'm looking for a similar setup (350/Nav/ML/Lux)... dealer seems willing to go about 2000 off, but would certainly like some other options or evidence to drive him lower.
Thanks,
Matt

I just emailed a couple dealers and basically pitted them against each other until i got a deal i wanted. I was upfront with them and told them the deals i was being offered. I left it up to them to work with me. I think being upfront with them was quite helpful and they also understood that i had to pay for shipping, so i believe that was another factor that benefitted me.
Good Luck
