Lets take it back to 1989 folks, when Toyota Motor Corporation decided to release a luxury brand in the United States.........

My mother's first car in the United States was an ES250. She's owned nothing but Lexus ever since.

Back in the day I had a crazy DJ friend who was the worst driver in the world. One day he got on the freeway in his ES250 and the engine was whisper silent while almost at redline. To this day, I have always held that motor in the highest regard. Such a memory is one thing that brought me to the 2008 Lexus family.

They are two completely different engines.

The IS250's engine is a 4GR-FSE V6

The ES250 back in 1989 is a 2VZ-FE V6
