Is the G37 slower than IS350? I think I heard it from somebody.

Would I trade? No. G37 is a nice car, but the interior still can't compare with the IS. It's also slower than the IS350, despite being rated at a higher horsepower.

It is a completely personal choice to make. Personally, I prefer the IS. You'll have to decide if you'll need the occasional back seats for friends or family(stay with IS), or if never being able to give more than one person a ride is ok with you. Then it just boils down to styling. Both cars have good reliability, and performance, so that is pretty much equal. Gas mileage......Does the G37 have direct fuel injection yet? If not, the IS will get better gas mileage. It's your decision, which car are you going with??

I prefer the overall package of the 350 better than the g37...the potential g37 convert...that's a different story

Me too.

But that wouldn't sway me to get the G37.

I think that the IS350, albeit a sedan, provides much more quality. The G37 is more performance oriented, but alas, does not perform much better than the IS350 sedan.

I can't wait to see what the IS coupe/convertible will offer...

I'll be keeping the IS. It has everything that I currently need in it, and I still prefer the idea of having a door for each seat. For more sporty performance, there is the other car, which does just fine.

The G37 is gorgeous, and I'm sure it performs well enough, but nothing it currently does, sells me.

id keep the IS too. because honestly to me it would be like a step down. why spend 38k and switch to a new car right away and loose alittle money on value. makes no sense to me. maybe if u were upgrading to a higher class thats understandable. but i believe the g37 and IS is in the same class.

the funny thing about the G37 is that despite the increase of 24hp with only an increase in displacement of 0.2L the car is no faster than the G35 coupe. that is because the extra heft offsets the extra power...not to mention it now gets slightly less mpg too...

stay with the IS350

I was and still is a big G35 coupe fan, I was very much into them and almost bought one before getting the IS350. With that said, I was very disappointed when the G37 was revealed - mostly by its exterior looks. I know Infiniti would not stray far from the original G35 coupe's design but they somehow made the G37 wider-looking and less sleek.

Like others have mentioned, even with 3.7L and 330 horses - it is not much faster than the old G35 coupe and even the new G35 sedan due to the extra weight. However, the interior of the G37 is decent and definitely an upgrade over the G35 coupe. Also, Infiniti has improved its handling as well so it is definitely better than the IS350 in that department.

If I were to choose a coupe that's in the IS's class, it'll be the 335i. Its interior looks outdated compared to the G37 but twin turbos and BMW handling wins even if it costs about $5k more...

I got rid of a 2008 G37 Journey, premium, navi, spoiler for the 350.

My thoughts:

I had a 2004 Acura TL and thought I wanted a coupe again but the G's doors are too heavy, I felt like I was sitting in a bathtub and I missed access to the backseat.

The G looks like an egg. I think the IS is a little too round for my taste also but the G is a total oval on wheels.

G35s are a dime a dozen around here. Not G37s yet but I'm sure it will happen. I have yet to see a 350.

The interior was the biggest problem. So cheap looking. The carpeting, the leather, the dash especially. Much better technology than the IS, but I couldn't stand to look at it day after day.

The G has more HP but the 350 is lighter so it should be faster.

My IS isn't broken in yet but so far I prefer the steering on the G.

They both have great acceleration but I didn't feel safe in the G. It has this weird problem when you are going too fast where you lose control for a sec. Very scary, I know other people who know what I'm talking about.

I have way more confidence taking the IS real fast around turns.

The brakes are much more sensitive on the IS.

You get more for less money with the G but the Lexus name is classier/sophisticated and more reliable. Lexus service is much more professional.

I think the younger (16-25) crowd prefers the G and the (26-35) crowd would choose the IS.
