High mounted tail light

High mounted tail light
Does the IS comes with tail light that is mounted higher for cars that come with factory installed trunk spoiler? I noticed that ISF has higher tail light because of trunk spoiler, but not sure if 2IS has that type. I just ordered a OEM trunk spoiler.

IIRC, it's something like $50-60. And, I believe that the IS-F has it as well.
But, an FYI: you don't need it. Even with the trunk spoiler, you can see the third brake light just fine. Also, most cars are at least at that eye level or higher.
IMO, it looks better without the raised third brake light. Most of the members of the forum (including me), decided not to buy the raise-up kit.

The IS-F 3rd brake light mount has a sensor incorporated into it, just like the GS's...
It is not just raised due to the spolier..
The raise kit is not really needed for the OEM 2IS spolier..
When the spolier is installed @ Port, they feel its necessary to raise the 3rd brake light. Most likely has to due with some silly DOT code measuring how high the trunk edge is off the ground, compared to the height of the 3rd brake light..
Its clearly visible either way..
You can put the kit in... it will make is seem it was "factory installed"..

If you add a factory spoiler to your IS, you will not need to raise your 3rd brake light. The ISF 3rd brake light is slightly raised because the ISF spoiler sits a bit taller than the standard spoiler. If you are thinking about adding the ISF spoiler to your IS, you may want to consider raising your CHMSL.

^^ Well, the fact is, the CHMSL in the ISF is raised slightly and it's raised because the ISF spoiler sits slightly higher than the standard spoiler.
However, in 99% of situations. the CHMSL would be visible even if it weren't raised. I'm sure that if your spoiler is in fact as tall as the ISF's, a portion of the SHMSL would be blocked if you were parked behind your car, in say, a Miata. This is the 1% that Lexus was compensating for, I'm sure.
