Probably because the cost of stainless steel (304 SS and 315 SS) keeps rising per month.

And everything else in the car. Plastic comes from oil. Paint comes from oil. Even tires need oil for their rubber compound.

I'm surprised it's so low.

I heard that!!!!!

Secondly, to the OP...

This is probably a scam to get people to think prices are increasing....so they will come in and buy now.

Sounds like a marketing scam.

I think its a true thing. im suprised its only a 400.00 increases.

There are some manufacturers jumping 1K to their original prices right now. the US dollar is weak, thats the cause of the price jumps.

Plus Japan is eating the depreciating US Dollar translating into less Yen per sale. $300 doesn't even begin to cover the currency difference in the past year.

Related to that, it's a shame that nobody overseas like American cars, because cars sold in Europe and Asia would have netted a great profit due to currency effects for Detroit either through increased units from lowered prices, or increased revenues via same units via same prices.

Yup! They increased prices in January to +100 on the 2IS model. I bought my IS right before that happened.

Y----A----W----N ....... A $300 increase on a $35,000 car is less than 1%. Big deal.

yeah, 300$ on its own is big, can get you a nice headrest with a screen in it, but when your buying a 35k+ car... 300$ really doesnt make or break it

of course, thats 300$ more out of your pocket.. good thing i've got mine already
