Need Help and Ideas for place to mount V1 Concealed Display
I am trying to find a custom place to install/mount this unit. I have both the V1 radar and the concealed display in the car now. I had the concealed display in the ashtray and liked how I could hide the display by closing the door. Looked good but you just cant see it. I am used to the sounds and stuff on it but want to get crazy and install it in the dash somewhere.
If you have done this please post pics or the link! Yes I know there is a thread on the V1...no info on what I want to do.
Anyone have any crazy ideas!! If I could I would elimate the clock in the center dash and have it display there! Problem is there is not enough room Even to have it display on the Navi unit!! Okay I am getting in over my head now.
Thanks for your ideas!
Mike

You just need to get video to the nav lcd screen. I've seen some CL members use NAV-TV (navtv.com) to get composite video to their nav screens. Its either an aftermarket product like that or the backup camera hack.
Then all you need to do is have a carputer with the ability to output composite video.
Hooking into the touchscreen is a different matter I have yet to see anyone do that.

Is that guy still making the USB adapters for the V1?

Mike slow down! Your mod list is getting out of control.
My .02: I don't bother with hardwiring/"concealed" displays since my 8500 X50 was stolen from my old car. The only way I would use a hardwire/concealed display was if I mounted it in the rear window. This would prevent thieves from breaking into your car, since they almost always look in the front window.

This is how I had it before. It works but you cant really see it. Great hiding spot for it. Liked how I could close that and you dont see it. I have the radar so High that you really cant see it as the rear view blocks it for when people look in. If they are going to take it I cant really stop that. I have it on top of the steering column now and it works just to picky on how it looks.
