No solution that I'm aware of. Just take the ML sub out and replace it with a 12w6v2 in a 4080 enclosure.

The OEM stock sub and its design (infinite baffle) suck. Trust me, even if you found a suitable replacement, it wouldn't improve your sound much. Just get a nice sealed enclosure like a 4080 box.

because no one has done it to my knowledge without modification. you must modify to make it work. you also need an aftermarket amp.

just like brociouz said, plus by putting an aftermarket sub, you must run the aftermarket amp, the oem amp will not push out the correct ohm load, and/or the correct rms, therefore damaging you more expensive higher quality aftermarket sub.

Do I need to buy an aftermarket amp??? I don't want to buy an aftermarket amp, I just want to replace/swap the OEM sub with another aftermarket sub that can be used with the OEM amp... or can I used the JL sub with the OEM amp??

To my knowledge, and I've looked into this exact topic a lot, there is no replacement. The OEM sub, despite its poor output and performance, is designed efficiently to match the stock amp. You can't just replace the driver/sub or just the amp and expect any real gains. You have to do both. Seriously, just get the 4080 box with a JL 12w6v2 (I'm selling one btw ), you will be so much happier if you care about bass at all.

how many people have switched out their stock spears? Ive got two component sets waiting in my room to be installed, already got the amp too. I was told i would need a sound processor to make the midbass sounds come through. is this true?

this is true. your 6.5s carry the low end frequency and your 3.5s and tweeters carry the rest. you will need to sumyour signals. as a matter of fact I have a JL cleansweep processor + summing units for sale
