I wonder if anyone knows if any of these would work?

Why are the subs blowing? Is the amp just too powerful for the speaker or are the speakers faulty?

http://www.abt.com/product/23985/Pioneer-TSSW841D.html : NO

As Mv350 said you need an open air sub. I would suggest the search function as there are threads on the subject.

What kind of modification are we talking? I've wanted to replace the stock with something better as well. when I was installing the rear window shade I snapped a couple photos of the sub enclosure/mounting area for reference later.

If you can just dremel out the area and drill some new mounting holes, that doesn't sound very difficult at all. could be a nice weekend diy job.

I blew my sub once. I would like to install a better sub even if i need a box. My question is if i will be giving up sound quality?? The ML sub is not great with music but with movies it kicks butt!!! Im afraid that if i put in a new sub it will sound like crap.... louder crap..

Pioneer claims it can be used as an open air speaker. I'm concerned about compatibility with ML system.

Is the ML system similar to Bose where you can't mix and match components? The OEM XM receiver I installed is made by Pioneer, maybe other bits and pieces of the ML system are too???
