Default No More Semi Annaline Leather in 2008's

I was informed by Jerry Prichman from Lexus Of Orland that they no longer use the Semi Annaline leather in the 2008 ISX50's due to cost. I was not aware of this. Did anyone else on CL know this? Also, the vast majority of the 2008 250 AWD now have been maid without the premium package for most markets. I guess they did this to lower the sticker pricing a bit.

I am not sure the exact brand, but it is a little bit less quality than the Semi Annaline. I honesty never paid attention when I looked at the 2008's in showroom.

Less quality? WTF? I didn't think the quality leather was that great to begin with. I already snagged my seat just from wearing jeans. Not good!

No worries, my Semi Annaline leather scratches easy as well. Nothing we can do other than keep conditioned. I guess the scratches show some class and character (LOL).

Well actually I was referring to 3 series .. Im not sure about the upper level cars .. but yes the 3 series standard is leatherette ...and your right thats exactly what I thought when I went to see a 335i a while back .. " for this price it should atleast have nice seats " .. but in true BMW fashion they insist on charging extra for every little update . Might I add the premium leather they offer is great but the standard in my opinion is crap ..

Ok seriously .. maybe your talking about the premium leather but .. You cant say the standard leatherette in a bmw is better quality then the standard leather that came in an IS ??

Nope, the leather in the IS is smoother and softer....but the leatherette is the best fake leather on the market and be the only part of the car left over after WWIII, unless there are twinkies and cockroaches in your glovebox.

From my experience .. The leatherette was obviously fake just from how it felt sitting on it .. and I rather have comfort when my car is new rather then a decade later on good long lasting fake leather I never found comfortable to begin with .. just my opinion

Wasn't the leatherette that I was concerned with, but rather the proper seats that it adorned.

IIRC, leatherette was a bit 'sticky', but other than that was fine, easy to clean and impossible to mar in any way.

I do agree in the fact that .. Although the leather in the IS is comfortable .. Its to sensitive in alot of aspects .. Ironically a little portion of my leather in the right passenger area has minor sun damage and it hasn't been a year even , and which im taking to the dealer tomorrow to repair coincidentally enough .
