That means that you have not tapped into your reverse or there is no camera connected. I don't have a camera so i did not tap into my reverse, but if you tapped into your reverse something should happen.

the part numbers for the steering buttons can be found at discounttoyotaparts i think they're like $150, im still unsure about J53 pin 1 I cant remember if I used it or not.

All you need is the ML Player and the harness pictured here. After doing this you will lose your AUX port which will be moved to the lower left connector on the ML unit (doing this tap reconnects the AUX port). In addition you will not have surround sound, but it sounds decent when watching movies.

Well, I've almost done my conversion, need to stretch one more wire to the trunk for back-up camera & navi guidance, all other is working! If someone need it, I can share wire conversion diagram I made myself.

But few things left mystery for me:

1) What are the CMP terminals on radio & monitor?

2) And same question for the ILL & PBEW terminals.

P.S. 350PsDMeuP, judging by your photo, the Mark Levinson radio is made by Pioneer?

Lohus, your diagrams look totally different from what i used, where did you get those? Did techinfo.toyota. change something?

1) on my diagrams pin 5 and 4 on J63 do not even exist. The same for J50. I remember lexusaudio tellling me that they have changed this wiring harness for the navigation each year. This may be why diagram may have omitted these pins.

2)As stated above on my diagram, these pins do not exist. What year is the unit that you are retrofitting?

So did you have to swap your amp or were you able to add those terminals to the existing amp?

I thought ILL was illumination, Congrats on the swap!

It is possible to add voice terminals to the existing amp.
My unit is 2006 year. The only disappointing thing, is that I've lost ability to use "auto recirculation" feature, there just no such button here

BTW, about speed signal cut-off from the monitor (to be able to control all the menus despite of the speed), what limitations\malfunctions I will get, if I cut off the speed signal from the monitor (but leave it connected to the nav unit)? Adaptive volume control in bluetooth area? What else?

Are you asking if you can add terminals to the existing harness, ifso yes you can.

I got my car back yesterday, they said that they couldn't get the SRS light to go off. The tech said the system thinks someone is in the passenger seat. I have to go back through my wiring, its something Im missing. Any ideas?

looking at your diagrams the SRS in on J54, but on my diagrams SRS is not even on the harness. I really hate Lexus changed this harness every year.

I believe it's pretty involved. I believe this thread will answer your questions: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-the-swap.html

I'am asking about SPEED SIGNAL wire to the monitor cut-off , did you done this? Any side effects?

About SRS: Probably, on your old clock assembly you've had "ADULT ONLY\SAFE FOR CHILD" info label, showing the status of the passenger airbag and on new one - you dont. And probably your new J53 connector doesnt have these terminals: 3 (GRAY), 9 (VIOLET). So, just add them, and connect them to the original J54 connector 6 (GRAY), 7 (VIOLET).

Best thing to do is get a 5" Navi, there are many with insane options that you won't find in the stock navi unit. I was actually just reading my import tuner the other day, and they had a GPS-unit like mini computer that you can use as GPS, a Video player (it has onboard flash memory, but i am sure it is expandable through SD cards), bluetooth for your phone, and a full browser in which you can i believe either plug in an "on the go" internet stick or by 3G but you'll need a SIM card. Let me know if you want me to look the name of this up.

Please, dont flood the thread with messages about after market navi, pros & cons. This is a FAQ about the retrofitting the OEM navi unit.

So, I've almost done my conversion. 1300$ - MONITOR+NAVI+WIRING from ebay, also need to buy back up camera (200$), microphone (80$) and steering wheel buttons (120$).

Here is the EXCEL file with tested and working wiring translation diagram, if someone is going to do it himself.
