Default Paddle shifter beep

Does 2IS beeps when you're driving in "S" mode when trying to downshift to unsafe gear? IS-F does this, but someone else here mentioned it does for 2IS also. I've never heard that beep on my 350 and thought maybe it was turned off in LPS?

Happened to me before. It doesn't downshift but instead it beeps until you've slowed down to a safe rpm then it will downshift.

So it does beep? Weird, I've never heard of that. Could it be in personalized setting? So what you're saying is that if you're driving on the freeway and you tried to downshift from 6th gear to like 4th and you will get beeps?

It depends on the speed and rpm you're at. For example, if I'm using the gear shift, I usually shift around 35mph which is pretty much near redline. Cruising on second at about 43mph then decide to drop into first again, it won't let me (beeps). Since 35mph is near redline, shifting from 43mph to 1st would just over rev the engine. Hope that helps, tried to explain the best I can.

Ok thanks. No wonder I never heard it cause I never wait until redline, man you do abuse the engine a lot.

Haha yea when I had the 250 it needed to be spanked for it to get up and go. But don't need to with the 350

Wow didn't know that either. I saw a video for IS-F but I didn't even think of it as a feature for IS 2gen.

I guess I dont' drive my car hard enough for it to let me hear the "Patience my friend, patience BEEP"

My car doesn't beep for up shifts like the IS F, I wish it did. easy to bounce 1st gear... but if I try to downshift at say 5500-6000 rpm? it beeps at me saying "no stupid" lol
