What things would you change in the IS?
I've got an older Acura TL that I like but got the upgrade bug. My GPS even though it is old is better than most hand held GPS devices but I'm looking forward to getting a BR DVD NAV with tons of storage like I saw at Alpine at CES. They are still improving the voice address selection which is going to be a huge plus for me. I also really want a cup cooler for those long trips to Vegas to keep my soda cold. But the most important I really want a significant improvement in MPG. I could go Prius but I'll miss some of the luxuries of the Lexus and the Acuras.
I doubt Acura will improve MPG much so I'm hoping Lexus will have a good option for me soon.

More power for the 250
More scratch resistant interior
An E-brake that actually holds
Better transmission for the MT models
I have more but thats all I could think of for now.

I know red-outs are easy to put on the tail lights, but I think the IS should come with no amber/orange color in the tail lights. Lexus needs to make them all RED!
I have an 08' IS, and I hate the shark fin antena. I am driving a car, not a submarine!

The seats in this car suck if you are taller than and oompa loompa because they have zero thigh support, the dash rattles are unacceptable, the ebrake needs improvement, a more aggressive sport package and wheels would be nice, more steering feel because it is quite numb.

More power of course, and an open ECU people can alter
COOLED seats (our are just vented, with a fan... I mean actually cooled like caddy offers)
A nav system designed in this century (realtime traffic, hard drive that plays media, and priced reasonably compared to the $300 aftermarket units that do more than the OEM one does now)
ML option able to play mp3s from DVD (without any weird special fake-video-dvd shennanigans to make it work)
A real ipod interface that doesn't make you pick between that or satellite radio
HD radio while we're at it
A real 5-spoke wheel with the sport package
A -real- sport mode for the auto transmission
And of course, more cupholders.

The foot-applied e-brake does suck indeed. The interior lights where the navi unit, a/c controls are should have white lighting to match the gauge cluster. The interior scratches SUPER easily. The motor on the 250's is significantly weaker than other cars in its class. Mercedes C300 and BMW's 328 both have more torque and hp and they feel that way as well. The PUSH start is kind of retarded because it won't start the car sometimes when I let off the brake too quickly while the starter is engaging. The AUTO feature for the headlights shouldn't be at the way end, it should be the first click to the left just like a german car so you won't have to turn on the headlights first and then finally get to auto and have them turn off. Also, the alarm shouldn't go off w/ the headlights blazing too, it's bad for the ignitors in the HID ballasts. A bit too many interior creaks w/ the sunroof shade open and the sunroof closed. Interiors creaks in general are just way too much..I've been in older cars w/ way more mileage than my brand new 08' and they don't creak even half as much.

There's always room for improvement, so how about some IS-F trickle-down [at least as options]:
- IS-F Steering: The IS is good but the IS-F's steering is fantastic.
- IS-F Seats
Other improvements:
- Better OEM tires
- Get rid of the common TSB's for rattles
- True Paddle-shifters
