Painted calipers on IS 250 wheels
Has anyone painted the calipers on their 250? I look at my front calipers, and they are smaller than the 350 calipers. There's no room to put "Lexus" or anything else there.
Is it possible to put 350 calipers on 250 disc brakes, or would I need to change the discs too?
Would 350 discs and calipers fit on 17" wheels?
I would also like to see if anyone matched Matador Red Metallic paint on their calipers. What would that cost to have a shop match the paint? I've seen the high-temp caliper paint for sale, so would regular paint from a pro painter not be up to task?

Its not 17" vs 18" its IS250 vs IS350....350s have bigger brakes....you can upgrade your brakes...look in the classified section, you will find some IS350 brakes for sale....

You would not be able to use IS350 brakes on the AWD IS250. The disc themselves for the front axle are splined. Meaning they have a star-like cut in the center hole to allow it to fit the front axle because the front axles have power going to them and turn the front wheels because of the AWD.
Besides, you don't need bigger brakes. Not enough power to warrant such an upgrade. Save the $1,000 and buy the Mazurri Headers. That is the only upgrade that has shown some SERIOUS gains!!

I have found the paint by brush kits to be more effective and have the best paint longevity as far as painting calipers. The sprays don't seem to last long enough. One key is to use the diluted acid containd in those kits and prep the caliper metal prior to painting. That Lexus logo on the 250 caliper looks very sharp.

hmmm. thought about doing this, but doesnt seem worth the time and effort, esp. if im working with the jack that came with the car...actually, does the 250 w/ 18" wheels even come with a jack or do i have run flats?
