I ran into a similar problem. My HID bulb wouldn't turn and lock, like the bulb was too long or something but then I noticed the rubber surround (o-ring) on my HID bulb was thicker than the surround on my factory bulb. so I pulled the rubber o-rings off and swapped them and everything installed perfectly. Give that a try and see if it helps.

MobileHID kit here too. 3000K 9006 kit and works excellent. The only problem I had was the o-ring was too thick. I did use the OEM bulb's oring and they worked perfectly. That maybe what you're experiencing with the bulb not fitting in the housing.

there are three small screws around where you install the bulb in, loosen those three and stuff the bulb in and then twist the bulb and finally, screw the three screws back on.

should work, i did it to my foglight when the hid bulb would not fit

are you talking about the goldish looking ones right where you put the bulb in? i tried that, that's kind of how i mounted mine but then my installation didnt go so smooth, did you take off your bumper to make the job easier? i had a real had time w/ mine...hopefully sometime soon i'll take my bumper off and do that, or think of a way to put it on somehow.

I want to chime in since I installed my HID fogs over the weekend. My kit is the retro-solutions.com 35W 3000K kit. the bulb (not sure if all HID bulbs are the same) looks like a cylinder. the stock bulb is tapered.

My bulb would not screw onto the stock housing since the housing had a little cone-shaped shield inside. The cone shape is perfectly shaped for the tapered end of the stock bulb, so obviously my cylinder HID bulb stopped a little too short. I mean the bulb goes in the housing but not enough such that I can screw the bulb in.

There were three screws that I loosened outside the housing that retracted the part of the housing I needed to screw onto. I felt hesitant to tighten the screws after the bulbs were in since it might push the bulb against the shielding. If the bulb is pressed against the shielding something bad might happen when the car is in motion.

Hope that helps

I had no issues with the kit I got. Was a fairly simple install.

Take a look at the ring like one member suggested. We have had many people on this board install our kit in the fogs without having any problems in regards to the bulb being too long.
