Default Compact spare the same size on a 350 and 250AWD?

I never looked the spare size or the spare when upgrading to an 18" set up.In fact,I'd better check the air pressure. It must be down.

Wouldn't the spare tire's diameter need to match the other tires?

I don't know.
All compact spares when on a vehicle look smaller to me.

Looks like there are differences:

Nice find!
Looks like I'll have to pick up an 18" compact spare or carry some higher end canned flat tire sealant.

Ok, I would not do it again, it was poor judgement.

but I once was driving over 100MPh on that yellow spare donut racing on my way to discount tire to get it replaced. I was insane that day, but did not realize it until I looked at the odometer. It was actually drizzling a lil bit too.

The spare works fine

On second look,unless I'm mistaken,it looks like both the stock 17" and 18" use a 17X4 spare.

I just did a check on the spare rim on Carson's site and there listings on both the 250 and 350 spare rim and both are $94.
That leads me to believe the spare rims are the same. Can't get any info on if the tire size is different.

That's prolly because 250/350 are usually fitted with 18s. Better look for an spare AWD donut or get a tape and measure what's already back there in your trunk.

I'll check it but there isn't any other listing on any Lexus parts site of another spare rim for the IS or in the PDF Tex provided..
