So after 6 months I never noticed this before, maybe cause hardly anyone sits in the back seats, what is this piece of string running in between my back seats? It runs from the middle of each side in the rear. It's hard to see cause it's pushed up to the top of the seat cushion, here is a pic I pulled the string down for the pic.

Was this something they forgot to cut off when I bought it new 6 months ago, factory prep? I tried to pull it off but it won't come off. Guess I need to just cut it?

its from the cover they had over the seat in transport. pull it hard and it will snap "or" cut it and pull hard from one end. Worked at a dealer when was younger and hated removing them!

these strings are from the plastic covered seats when you first bought it. I have Cashmere interior, so I noticed it clearly.

Yeah mine had that too only it was coming OUT from under the 2 side seats as it had already been cut and shortened. If you cut it in half then pull each piece hard it'll come out, try slip your hand underneath to give it some room it'll come out a bit easier then.

(btw it's elastic :P)

Yes, sadly enough, it is not the parachute option or the drag chute. That option is only JDM. You can cut it easily and it will not effect the leather seat skin. Just a minor manufacturing left over item. I seen this on some Beamers that were new. The dealer typically removes these small things at new car prep.
