Well I just picked up a new, to me, 06 IS350 as some of you know. Unfortunately I live in the Northeast and need winter tires so I don't trash my beautiful car. I am trying not to spend too much money on my winter set as I'll be adding a summer set in the near future - probably some 19's with a big dish. Anyway, I've been looking all over for good OEM alternatives for the car and found that I like ES330 17s and RS330 18s. But then I was able to find a set of 17" 03 G35 wheels for a great price. So I searched here and couldn't find anyone with them. I also came up with a bunch of other questions while I read through the threads, I will list them here.

Do 2003 G35 17" wheels fit on the IS350?

What Nissan/Infiniti or other OEM wheels fit on the IS350?

Do Lexus center caps fit in the wheels above?

Do ES330 or RX330 wheels fit on the IS350?

Is there any hard evidence of a 16" wheel fitting on the IS350? If so, which wheels?

Any recommendations for a set of winter tires and wheels?

Anyone have a set of winter wheels for sale here that isn't in the classifieds?

I would appreciate it if anyone could answer any of my questions. Thanks everyone for reading.

Get a set of winter tires and put them on your stock wheels. And for the summer, purchase whatever wheel/tires you want and you're all set. This is what I'm doing.

I would but i have 18" wheels with brand new tires. There's no point to spend the extra money on 18" snow tires IMO. I'd also rather have extra sets of wheels laying around just in case...

just to let you all know 17" 350z wheels fit in case anyone is in the market for some cheap winter wheels. 350z owners go through wheels like tires.

You can get 4 sets of 18" oem rims on ebay these days for only 395$. Why not get 18" You're gonna drive an IS350 with 17s or 16s? It'll look crappy for 5 months of the year and what's the point in that?

NJ is hardly the northeast.

That being said, I would also suggest putting a decent set of winter tires on your stock wheels and getting a better summer set.

you can get ONE 18" oem wheel for 395... i'd rather "look crappy" for 5 months and be able to get to work safely.

you can find the factory rims for around 500$ probably a few here on the classifieds. i have 17" rims with snow tires that are from tirerack. i have blizzacks lm-25's i would go with the dunlop tires. you can get rims and tires for around 1000 or less and not steel rims. PM me if you want i will take a pic of my car tomorrow so you can see. looks good IMO for winter rims and tires for the money. this way i throw whats left of my stock rims and tires when i turn in my lease.

Hardly the North East? The snow is still white and slick here so I'll need snow tires. Also I'd rather buy 17" snow tires rather than 18" ones because they're cheaper. Plus the tires on my 18s are brand new. Summer 19s are coming soon too.

Anyways I already picked up a set of 350Z wheels for cheap and they actually look pretty good. They fit flush with the fender.

Sorry, should have been more specific: NJ is NOT the NE, not even close. That being said, I never implied that you don't need snow tires. I don't quite understand, however, how you think having 17's + winter rubber for snow, 18's + OE rubber, and 19's + summer rubber will be cheaper than just using your 18's for snow and 19's for fun.

Either way, make sure you try to keep your overall diameter the same for all sets.

New Jersey is part of the Northeast United States, you must be confused with something else.

Anyways yes, 17" used oem wheels + 17" snow tires is cheaper than just 18" snow tires. I also don't want the trouble of mounting and unmounting tires. Not to mention many snow tires aren't even offered in 18".

In your plan, you've got three set of rims/tires: tires on your OEM wheels already, buy and mount tires on your winter 17's and buy and mount tires on your summer 19's = mount two sets of tires and your done (until you need new ones).

In the alternative plan, you've got two sets of rims and three sets of tires: Unmount OEM 18's, mount winter 18 tires and buy and mount tires on your summer 19's.

In review, plan A forces you to mount twice where plan B forces you to unmount once and mount twice. So what you are saying is that the trouble of unmounting a single set of tires coupled with the extra cost of 18" winter tires over 17" winter tires is worth purchasing a used set of 17s and tires.

Sorry, I'm just not buying what you're selling. But, it appears you've already made up your mind, and I have no vested interest either way, so I'll let it go. Enjoy your new ride!

Just to clear things up for people who may need winter wheels and for you to see the light i'll do a simple analysis of 17" vs 18" blizzaks. All prices taken from Tire Rack.

225/45/17 Blizzak WS-60s are $138 a pop and not offered in 18".
225/45/17 Blizzak LM-25s are $144 a piece
So I'm looking at $552-576 for 17" snow tires.

225/40/18 Blizzak LM-25s are $225 a piece at their CLOSEOUT price.
So $900 on sale for 18" snow tires, usually much more.

So its about $340 less to buy 17" tires. Can 17" OEM wheels be found for under 340 bucks? Absolutely, I picked up clean set of 350Z wheels for $200 locally with TPMS. This discount also compounds everytime I buy snow tires, this time I may only save $140 bucks but next time it would be $340 and so on. I could also get a further discount with 215's in the front which I may do because they would cut the snow better, but i wanted to compare apples to apples. Albiet the 18s we on sale, which further proves my point.

Also having a spare set of wheels has its advantages.
-I have a spare set of wheels always available.
-Assume I got 18" snows on my OEM wheels, I wouldn't have to dismount the snows and mount my brand new tires just to use them.
-If I didn't have a set of 19" wheels I would have to dismount and remound tires every year.
-I do not have to worry about curbing or scratching during the winter.
-Wheels can be resold easily, tires not so much.
