Hi all,
I'm new here and is from Singapore. I think the prices of the IS250 is US is very very cheap compare to Singapore. I just bought a new IS250 last Sat. In my country, we have only 2 version of the IS250, the Standard and luxury version. The luxury version will come with Xenon lights, memory seats and Mark levinson. As for the price, the standard costs SGD142k (est USD104k) and the luxury version costs SGD148k (est USD 108k). I am using the exchange rate of USD/SGD = 1.3700
The car prices in Singapore is one of the highest in the world...

If you get a chance, check the date on the invoice. If the car has been sitting on the lot for a long time you might be able to use that to your advantage. To me, that's where you get the negotiating power from, the date delivered, not the invoice price.

well i just settled on a deal for 4800 off MSRP from 41520 to 36720, also had the dealer throw in all weather mats. the vehicle is actually still on the boat and is being delivered as we speak, I'm also going to try to squeeze in an ipod kit at a discounted price if I can. I emailed all dealers in the area and they all told me I got a really hard price to beat, so I'm pretty satisfied. thanks for all the help though.

IS250 "new" for $30k with NAV... Good deal?
So first I'd like to say hi to everyone, and thanks in advance for your advice and opinions. If you take a look here: http://www.300cforums.com/forums/pro...car-again.html this the original thread I started over at 300c forums because I'm SICK and tired of American cars because it keeps failing me! (just read the first post).
Anyways I went to Lexus of Woodfield over in Schaumburg, IL this afternoon to look at the IS250's and IS350's. I've determined that an IS350 with what I want in it (NAV, heated seats, Bluetooth ect...) is going to cost $50k which I simply CANNOT afford. So I started looking at 250's and From what I can tell even those are going to be around $40-$43, which is PUSHING it for me. I'm looking for something around $34 max. I did the math on financing $30k at 8.5% with 2k down and I'm getting around $585/month on a 60 month loan... which is doable... right now I pay $493/month on a 60 month on my Chrysler.
So the very helpfull and NON-PUSHY salesman showed me a "demo" car that is still classified as new that has 2000 miles on it. It's an IS250 with NAV like I want and its a 2008 and he's telling me that he can give it to me for $30k.
Is this a good deal?
Also I need someone to be honest with me here on horsepower. I currently drive a 300C with a modified intake which cranks 350HP to the rear wheels. At 204HP, with this smaller, lighter car, I THINK it still won't be as fast as my 300c (but not slow by any means)... What do you guys think? I started looking at the IS350's because of the bigger engine, and to this day would still like an IS350 over a 250, but I cannot seem to find one (other than used ones on ebay) for under $38k with NAV.
Thanks alot

your not looking hard enough pal... check this forum's used cars for sale in the classifieds
like this one
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=387959
but coming from a 300c i would go with a 350 over a 250. Alot of people regret not getting the 350 after purchasing their 250 because of the HP.
and i don't know about IL but those prices you told us are really high...
350 new with nav should be low 40's out the door including tax
250 new with nav should be low to mid 30's out the door including tax depending on if you want AWD or not...
i think your non pushy salesman was trying to rip you off...

I see this here too: http://www.carmax.com/enUS/view-car/...c-7e7eeec9865a
Its a beautiful red color that I like, but its used... I've never bought a used car before, so I'm kinda hesitant :/... I think I'm going to go to some more Lexus dealers on Thursday or Friday if i have time (and assuming I have a ride, considering my 300 will be in the dealer getting fixed tomorrow)

the difference between 350 & 250 is 4k in price...but you gain 100hp for 4k in price is pretty good deal. compare to increase 20k for 400hp IS-F
you come from 300C might want to buy 350...even though the price is high, but the performance is good deal in LEXUS model line.
Even if you mod the IS250, you'll spend a lot more money than 4k, but won't get 100hp increase +reliablity.

What about buying a used one with lets say.... 30k miles on it? I've never bought a used car, only new ones and I hesitate when buying used because I don't know where it's been...

A used 30k is okay depend on yr& condition...since 2nd gen IS started in 06.
If you not in a rush, I'll say wait until special deal in decemeber(year end clearance), low interest rate. I bough mine during labor day special @ 3.9% for 60 months.
*if you finance, must add the total price of finance, for example, you paid 30k OTD + 4k in finance interest for 60 months = 34k for the vehicle. So even if you get a good deal on a car, but the finance % will rape you from behind.
If buy from private(craiglist, ebay, etc), just take the vehicle to the dealer for inspection/check if you think the vehicle is worth it.
If buy from dealer, bargain + be nice while doing it. Look at the Official Thread for discount off MSRP price, find out how high/low some people can get from MSRP.
Good luck.
