How about just hittin' up the gym instead? haha j/k

Congrats on the 12's Cayman! That is awesome and hopefully all the drag racers here can push that to mid 12's and better.

BTW I never realized that a Jeep SRT-8 was so damn fast - 12.98 is not to shabby for an SUV (or any car for that matter) haha.

I'll drive your car gernby, with snow on at half throttle, with a keg in the trunk.
Nah, man we'll hook up at ennis on the next test and tune day, which I think is late feb early mar.
(btw, I think I went from 150lbs to 160 in 2 days with my mom's turkey stuffing and pecan pie)

Congrats Caymandive. Excellent work!

Suvs are geared to be fast but have very low top speeds...well with the exception og the porsche one haha

SUV's top speeds are limited more by aerodynamics than gearing. They would take MUCH more power to achieve the kind of top speeds a smaller car can achieve.

I understand that they are often geared more for low end a la traditional trucks but as Gernby said there is the aerodynamics factor and all of this aside, how many SUVs have you seen run 12s? I've seen maybe 3 or 4 and those were FI (although maybe this one was too, though I doubt it). All I was really trying to say is that 12s are pretty damn good - ask Cayman. haha

Amazing! You never cease to amaze! What a way to end the season!
Hell, what do you think would happen if you pulled the rear seats out! LOL!
BTW, can't recall, did you remove the silencer, when switching up the exhaust?

I left the primary silencer (resonator) in place. I only removed the secondary cats. BTW.. Yesterday wasn't my last day of racing. Today was! My poor car..haha I promised my friend (CL SN: TYWRAP) with his Supra that I would go with him today even though I knew I wouldn't hit 12's again. The weather was in the 50's, but I still managed a 13.060@106.32 for my best run.

Here is a video of some runs today against the Supra and a local DCEVOCLUB guy in his EVO IX MR. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzRhCkvjqOI

I just did DragTime's HP estimator based on 3575 lbs with a 12.844 @ 109.2 MPH, and it came back with 348.40 HP at the flywheel. When I entered the 13.149 @ 105.75 with the same weight, it calculated only 320.39 HP. That's an amazing difference just from the climate conditions.

I guess there was a bit of a weight difference considering the 13.149 was done with the passenger seat in place, but with a nearly empty tank of gas; yet the 12.844 was done with the passenger seat removed and almost 1/2 tank of gas.

In any case, I guess this would be about the difference that we could expect from a good header that gained about 10% more power.

Way to go James, and what a trooper your wife was to get up that early and sit on 35 degree aluminum bleachers to film the breaking of the 12 sec. barrier. Your density altitude was lower than the Dead Sea. Great use of the earths natural winter super charger!! I'm amazed at the 12.8 and even more with the 109mph.

Great job.

Yeah his Supra is not in any way set for drag racing as you can tell. He takes it to Summit Point once or twice a year where it really shines. 12.9's at 122mph!! Trap speed says it all.
