Default 13.14@105.75 today another 1/10th closer that that magic 12 (now12.844@109.20mph)

Only got two runs in today as time was short and there was an abundance of cars breaking on the track which slowed things down severely. I set out in hopes of hitting 12's today based on what was supposed to be a very cold dry day. Well the weather man was wrong and I spent the day in my t-shirt instead. If the weather was 10 degrees cooler and a bit dryer as predicted I'm fairly confident I may have hit a 12.99 or low 13. I either need better weather or more power, but both wouldn't hurt either. New exhaust is my next project and will happen very soon! I'll have my Tanabe posted for sale in the next few weeks if anyone is interested.

Weather Stats (See signature for my drag strip journal)

Car stats:
3575lbs with driver
JoeZ pipe (OEM Airfilter)
Tanabe exhaust
Custom mid-pipe
Michelin PS2 tires in the front at 50 psi
Kumho 245/35/18 tires in the rear at 34 psi
Eibach springs

ECT PWR was again NOT used on the runs.

Launch was done with no brake torquing as the first run of the day I tried a 1500rpm launch, which yielded above a 2.0 60' and a time of 13.33.

Car was full interior with almost an empty tank. (arrived with it showing 10 miles to empty!) I removed the spare, jack, head rests (except drivers), owners manual, engine covers, floor mats and all loose personal articles.

Nice work James! Do I get to give you the custom title now?

Edit You almost got it, Gernby has a 13.094 @ 105.43

Regardless, great time and documentation

Nice run! Too bad you only got 2 runs - I bet if you could get 10 runs, you would've cracked into the 13.0xx!!! Once again, congratulations on the good ET!

Very nice time.

On a side point on ECT PWR, some nights when I run my RX, I don't put ECT PWR ON and get faster times, I have been fiddling with trying to disconnect the battery just before I get to the track at a gas station and letting the vehicle suck in some cooler air, but if I switch ECT PWR ON it goes slower.

Thumbs up

Once again congrats on GREAT numbers James!!!

You will be in the 12's in no time .. especially with the cooler weather on the way..

I'm sure the new exhaust set up will be a huge help as well...

I just Love the fact that the screaming 5 speed manual V-8 5.0L Mustang had a great run, but NOT quicker than an Auto V-6 3.5L Lexus..

Thanks Joe. Just wish the season lasted a bit longer here for some cooler dryer air. The season ends next weekend.

Great work James! I gotta get to the strip again myself and put these lightweight wheels to good use - I haven't been to the strip since I bought them!

Just one question - when you stomp on the gas, you don't spin or have massive wheelhop? I think I might start modding next year - next weekend is probably the last weekend for drag racing for me too - if the weather holds up.

Try bolting on 17 SSR rims, or something lightweight. Also, drop in some TM plugs.

12.8 quarters or better.

Any takers?
