Amp and Sub installation results
Just tapped into the sub wires... I'll explain the sound this way... I used to have these 2 12s in my other car with the amp pushing the hell outta them. All in a huge ported box in a hatchback to the point where the seats were vibrating like a massage chair! So, the setup now is the same amp and speakers but in a small sealed box with the amp tapped into the rear sub wires... At first I left the crossover all the way down which was 30 sum odd Hz... I then adjusted the **** about half way (it goes up to 320hz and the speakers can handle up to 0.1khz) So after making my adjustments and STILL having to turn the bass level (for rap) all the way down on the ML radio it sounds tight, accurate and loud. Can it be adjusted to sound like it did in the old car? You bet it can! But I don't want that kind of sound in a lexus you feel me? For r&b I may turn the bass up on the HU a couple notches, MAYBE. But it sounds good. I listen to everything but country and it sounds good with everything. So to sum it up, no door speakers, and if you do choose to anyways, use the front 2 doors, not the rear. But you don't need anything but the sub wires. I'm guessing the cut out people were having was due to their aftermarket amp not having a good crossover adjustment. Just my guess... I'll post pics of my setup later this week.
