Default keyless entry on rear doors..mod?????

Anyone ever think about installing on the rear doors the keyless entry system that is installed on the front doors. I think all the other Lexus models have the both front and rear keyless entry handles.

Any thoughts if such a mod is possible.....

The OP is asking if he can add the same door sensing handles we have in the FRONT doors to the rear doors.

Yes I believe it's possible. I think I saw a japanese IS owner with this mod done already. Been meaning to do it...just lazy.

That sounds like a cool mod, though I think I'll just change the driver's side to open all of them instead.

Doable ..... but worth the effort?? I almost never have anyone in the back seat, and I have the doors set to all unlock upon approach, and NOT to lock automatically when I drive away. So I'm not sure what you would really gain. I think there are better ways to spend money on the IS.

Yea Id rather just hit the unlock button on the remote twice than pay for all the crap and do all the work Id have to do to get the touch sensors but into the rear doors.

yeah, i kind of found them a little pointless on the GS and LS model, (my dad just got the LS), only thing i like is that if ur walking towards the back of the car u can press the lock button on the back door (saves you literally the one turn around 'doh i forgot' step, as u can just click the back one instead), but otherwise clicking unlock twice, or just changing the settings so that they all unlock is a pretty easy fix (just press Lock and Unlock on the keyfob at the same time and hold for 5-10 seconds and it'll beep and change so that when u put ur hand ont he driver door they all unlock)

the mod can probably be done seeing as lexus has it on the other models, but probably not cost effective.. at all
