I've got an extremely light tint (50%) on the front, and I did that purposely. I have absolutely no problem seeing at night.

Because I only have 50% on the front windshield, you can't tell it's tinted. Again, I did that on purpose. It's just dark enough to not need sunglasses during the day, but not impede my vision at night.

Thank you sir when you get a chance can you post a pic of it or PM me a link if its up already. I must have missed it. I agree with it being light so it doesnt grab attn. Are you legal to have front windows tinted in CA? I am finally having trouble with that and Blk/BLK...with tint makes it look darker. I can only imagine how much darker it will look with the front window!

I think its time for a photoshoot from the CA crew again!!!!

I don't have an IS but since I do have a GFM GS, I thought I would comment.

Two years ago, I would have thought this was sort of ricey but tastes can change. Especially when something is done right and it's done by enough people to let it sink in good. Even some manufactureres are producing cars with black roofs. Lexus, Mercedes and others have blacked roof cars. So it's far from rice imo.

Now for the GFM connection. I wouldn't have thought this would look too good on a GFM colored car. The paint switches colors and the pearl would seem to contrast against it. But you never really know until you see it done. Looks pretty good in the pics. Not something I would do because it seems like something for sporty cars....but never say never. If the ES350 can look good with a black roof, so can a GS.
I think I have an extra $100 laying around.......

I've gotten a couple of PM's about how the vinyl is holding up, so I took some quick photos. In short, it looks like brand new - no fading, peeling, chipping, staining, scratching, or anything else. I've washed it, had bird poop, bug guts, jet fuel, and whatever else you can think of fall on it, and it really has held up well.

The gloss is still excellent:

Did you paint, replace, or vinyl the weather seal strip on the sides?

What kind of vinyl did you use what kind of store did it?

hey javy thanx for the promise to help but then i was way too busy down in LA and now i'm overseas and so I guess I'll just do it when I get back at epic images... heard they do a good job and that's the one for 120. I figure it's better to just do it there than to drive all the way down to LA spending like 100-200 bucks for food and gas and food and food... hahaha. thanx fo your help

The same shop that installed my roof (ProMax in Alhambra, CA) vinyled the strips on the sides. I'm think they use the 3M vinyl, but I'm not totally sure - I'll see if I can find out...

Damn, and I thought it was in homage to the 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 LTD!

But it is just a Wal-Mart attempt to ape the M3 coupe's carbon fiber roof.
