I Want To Upgrade To Brighter Headlights, Help Me Decide!
Hey guys, I don't want to change ballasts to accommodate HID's, but are there any bulbs that can be replaced that are slightly brighter than OEM halogens?
Are there any bulbs that are plug and play that can still use the OEM Halogen transformer?
I have a 2006 IS250 and I'm looking for a cheap middle ground between OEM headlamp bulbs and full on HID's/Xenons.
Thanks for your help!

Great questions!
I'd like to get rid of the yellow and have more white light low beams but not glaring to other vehicles on the road.
Both headlights and fogs.
On recommendation from a guy i know on a Camry board,I'm going to go with made in Japan MTEC brand.
Lifeime warranty.
H11
9006 High Beams
9005 Fogs

hmmm, Joeb427...interesting.
i was wondering if you can post some pics up once you got ur bulbs installed. i wanna see the difference between that and HID. i just bought MTEC kit and will be installing it, but I was wondering how much of a difference between the MTEC HID and MTEC Halogen.

hey guys
i actually just fitted the PIAA Xtreme Whites in the low beam (H11) and it looks great! Its alot brighter... they said its supposed to be similar to a 4000K HID which is stock and it really is a great way to go
only problem is i changed my bulbs and now its saying my vehicle stability control is messed up.....
oh yeah and another word of advice..
its pretty hard changing out the bulbs... you have to take out the air filter and stuff... took me about 1.5 hours....
now i gotta figure out hte VSC thing....

The MTEC are said to be 4350.
I think the MTEC might be worth the less than halt price of a PIAA.
Made in Japan and l;ifetime warranty claim is nice too.
I know a guy on a Camry forum that is happy with MTEC.
I don't know which %^$#&# way to go.

I just bought the MTEC H11 low beam,9005 high beam and 9006 Fog superwhite bulbs all CONSUMING 55W --> PRODUCING 100W (@4,350K)
from a MTEC dealer with a 99% positive rating with 6K transactions.
Waiting for the combined discounted postage quote.
Should total around $75.

If I buy the H11 bulbs that are in between full on HID kits and Halogen, how much brighter will it actually be?
Is it easy to install? Are there any guides online?
I think I'll just get lowbeams since I rarely turn on high beams or fogs.

Sylvania says that you should change your Silverstar line once a year.
No wonder there's complaints of burnouts after a year.

Just went to http://www.automotivelightingusa.com...roducts_id=924
and it shows Wattage [draw]: 65
This will damage the original wiring which I believe supports 55 watts?
