...so what's the likelihood that someone on CL will actually copy one of these & sell it for considerably less than $300? I'd definitely pay 50 or so, but more than that & I'll be doing the mod myself. I've already done it on my IS & my wife's is next.

Tried, seriously looked into it... Couldnt sell em for less than 100 bucks. Plus the whole thing was too much work.
That was exactly what I was gonna said!!!!! It is well worth because you keep your warranty. If you cut the wires you will lose your warranty!!!! thats why I haven't done the hack, I was waiting for something like this!!

Doesn't seem to be made by Lexus.....which of course means that it will void your warranty the same way if they can prove it caused the problem.

LOL we know is not made by lexus BUT its a PLUG and PLAY module!!!!! no cutting wires!!!! so if something happens to your nav, just take the module out
and put everything back together!! with the regular hack you cant because you need to cut wires and the dealer will know that you did the hack!!

i think the idea is if something goes wrong with your nav, you remove the offending piece, put the system back in original "untouched" condition and then claim your warranty.
