Default Replacement windshield...

Worst luck happened to me driving back home when it's raining on the 10E.. since it's raining, it's hard to see clearly what's in front of me except the rear lights of cars.. i couldn't make out what it was, but it came flying towards my windshield right at my head area.. luckily the impact wasn't harder because it would've struck my head.. i could literally feel the crack from inside.. i'll probably go through insurance to replace my windshield, but since the IS has the radio transmitter on the windshield, does anyone know how much a replacement would be? how much am i looking at?

any shops in so cal that can charge cheaper for a factory Lexus windshield?

I got mine replaced. Lexus quoted 1000. Go through insurance but make sure to specify oem parts.

yikes, glad you're still alright. Good thing most modern vehicles come with tempered and laminated windshields. So did you ever figure out wtf that was?

well one of my friends cracked one of my windshields filming a class video...a friend suggested I drive at 10 mph towards him and he will pretend to get hit and he assured me he did this before with no problems... but it turns out that he strikes the windshield with his shoulder making a 1.5ft diameter 1/2 sphere shape...so im pretty sure the windshield will hold up to some rocks or whatever came at you...

And to think what kind of damage would've been done if he had hit your hood or bumpers, I'm sure there would be a fair sized dent as well.

It kind of sucks not knowing what came at you, it would bother me to no end!
