Please help me choose the right ceramic tint percentage!
Hey guys, it's time to decide what percentage tint to get, and I need some advice. I have a GFM is250, with black leather interior. I have decided to go with the formula one pinnacle ceramic series since i have GPS in my car. They offer 15% and 35%. I'm debating on which one to get. One of the shops near my house suggested the 35% since my interior is black already, but I'm just worried that on a sunny day 35% would look real light. What would you guys say? If you guys can post some pics of your cars with 15% and 35% tint, that would be great also. Thanks for your opinions.

I have 25 front/35 rear and it is pretty light. I don't have any pics, but when I park outside and the sun is out, everything in the car is pretty visible when you're within 10 feet or so. The good thing about it is that when parallel parking @ night, it's a lot easier to do than with the 20% I had in my old accord.

i know it's not the brand you are looking at but johnson films has a online virtual tinter. you can even choose the IS as the vehicle to be tinted. here is the link: http://www.johnsonwindowfilms.com/ca...er/tinter.html it has different %'s to choose from to help you decide. this might help a little bit. especially if you have a silver IS. here is a screenshot:
also, here is the link for the thread on tint: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=223910

depending on how good your installer is, there might be some more noticeable ghosting with 15% compared to 35%. what is the legal % you're allowed to have in your area? ceramic tint is expensive so you wouldn't wanna get pulled over and have to remove the front tints cuz it was too dark.
i went with 40% ceramic cuz i didn't wanna risk getting a ticket and having to remove the tint. also there was a smaller chance of ghosting compared to 30%.

ULTiMaX99, the legal percentage in Toronto is 35%, the only thing i hate is that with 35%, it will not be dark enough, even with a little day light, you can see everything inside, is that true? Can some one post a picture of their car with 15% and 35% tint? possibly a GFM, but anyother color will be appreciated also. THanks

I would also go for 35%. Although darker tint would look better to me, I don't want to sacrifice my visibility when driving at night.

quick question for people who have experienced the tinting part, did the guy who was tinting ur windows have a hard time with the rear deck? because i was talking to this guy who has done tinting for my friends bmw and his lexus he had said he had to take out the rear deck to tint it because IS 300's rear speakers were in the way.

hmm..., yeah, I would want a bit darker than 35% then. My dad's car is like yours, I think it's a bit too light for me. I will probably talk with the guy who does tinting tomorrow to see whether to go 15 or 35. It's only the front windows that has to be 35 in my area, the back and rear doesn't matter.
